Miguel Angel Alvarado Barragan
Born in Mexico City, Miguel at first studied architecture, but fell in love with Italian cuisine during a visit in Rome. Soon he also discovered his passion for hosting guests. Since 2003, Miguel has been working in upscale gastronomy in Switzerland and is today a restaurateur himself by vocation. His highest goal is the satisfaction of his guests. He is the manager of “El Alebrije” and looks after his guests, his kitchen and service staff as well as after purchasing and cash management.
Monika Minder-Bobak
Monika is Swiss and grew up in Zurich and has worked in the financial trust sector since her graduation in Business Management. At El Alebrige, Monika is responsible for administrative tasks, financials and the business and marketing strategy, but sometimes also works at the restaurant. She is also jointly responsible for the conception of the bio-tortillas and responsible for the organic cultivation of tomatillos, chilies, corn and other crops. She is a nature enthusiast and was awarded with a permaculture certificate in 2016.
